National Symbols

Coat of Arms

The Towers of Hercules have been selected as a tribute to Spain, the country of origin of the project, also evidenced by the arrangement of the shield. In a symbolic gesture, the crowns of the towers, as well as the Spanish crown, have been replaced by the Zavidian crown, with the possibility of modifications to their design in the future. Around the columns you can see the national motto of Zavidia, “De Parvis Grandis Acervus Erit”, which translates as “Great things are nourished by small ones.” It symbolizes the great wealth and advances that the nation is expected to generate. Despite its small start and size. At the same time, displaying one's own motto enhances the autonomy and identity of Zavidia and thus, without ceasing to venerate the Spanish legacy, show a more independent country.

The shield incorporates the emblem of the first Zavidian royal dynasty in the upper left corner. The wheat, present on the shield, not only symbolizes the “harvest” that the country is expected to generate, but also the faith in prosperity and wealth. A tree, representing the Amazon, highlights the rich biodiversity and geography of the region where Zavidia is located. The Cuvier's Caiman, the national animal, embodies resistance and tenacity, characteristics shared with the Cuvier's caiman, one of the most stable in nature despite its small size. At the bottom, the star of Suriname, the neighboring country, not only symbolizes the unity of its various ethnic groups, but in Zavidia, in addition to referencing Suriname, it represents the fundamental unity of the project.

Flag

The Zavidia flag features three horizontal stripes in blue, yellow and green, respectively.

The blue stripe, located at the top, symbolizes justice, loyalty, perseverance and truthfulness. It represents Zavidia's commitment to fundamental ethical principles and building a society based on strong values.

The yellow stripe, which is twice as wide as the other two, symbolizes the country's wealth and abundance of natural resources. It also represents unity within the national project, as well as the profits that the country is expected to generate, the investments that will lift it, and the value of its people and cultures.

The green stripe at the bottom reflects hope, luck and faith in the future. It symbolizes confidence in continued development and prosperity, as well as belief in the country's ability to overcome challenges and build a real and efficient state.

Finally, the national Coat of Arms can be seen on the left side of the flag, which symbolizes the identity and culture of the nation.

In summary, the arrangement and choice of colors on the Zavidia flag encapsulate the country's identity, highlighting its natural riches, unity, and its commitment to justice, loyalty, truthfulness, hope, luck and faith.

Its choice is based on its habitat in the central river of the country, but beyond its geographical location, Cuvier's Caiman embodies a powerful message. This attribute symbolizes the resilience of the country, highlighting that, like Cuvier's alligator, despite being small, it is robust and capable of facing challenges with determination and strength.

Jaguar

The jaguar, revered as a military symbol in Zavidia, embodies imposing power.
